holders.vote Roadmap Item - Bring Your Own Trust Graph
Several smart people in the Ethereum ecosystem are all realizing at the same time, that we should take another look at trust graphs (page rank, hop-decay, eigentrust, etc) and reputation graphs, as governance primitives. To name a few of the goats, we have Jake Hartnell, trent.eth, @Owokai, and lil ol me...ChainPy.eth.
What if users, could bring their own Trust Graph?
We're exploring what it might look like, for users to bring their own trust graph, to the application layer. What if you could build your trust graph, in one app, and read and write to that same trust graph, in another app? And I use "app", in the broadest sense of the word here. Governance mechanisms. Permission systems. Games. Social networks.
We're exploring what it mike might look like, starting with holders.vote.
Implementation wise, I'm imagining functionality where users could could set a base URL for a standardized REST service, that supports common verbs, such that they could use a trusted platform, share a friend's or institution's, or deploy their own.
Edit: spelling
